Dr. Kim decided to start Hodiah Dental Care with the vision of delivering the highest quality dental care through his extensive training and specialized experiences including wisdom teeth extraction, dental implants as well as general dentistry. Dr. Kim employs the latest technological advances to ensure the highest quality of care for patients including 3D Cone Beam CT for more accurate diagnosis and effective treatment outcome. Dr. Kim is committed to superior care by communicating with patients at every juncture of diagnosis and treatment, carefully explaining treatment plan and options, and encouraging patients to ask questions. About Dr. Kim,

Dr. Kim graduated from Yonsei University College of Dentistry in South Korea and completed residency training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in one of the most prestigious dental schools in South Korea. After marrying his wife, he moved to the United States and further advanced his education by graduating from Rutgers University, School of Dental Medicine in Newark, New Jersey.

Since 2006, he has been treating a variety of patients who needed implants, wisdom teeth extraction, botox and biopsy, in addition to practicing general dentistry. He has also effectively treated patients with temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorder and obstructive sleep apnea.

Dr. Kim also enjoys volunteering in different countries to provide dental care to people in remote places in Russia, Vietnam and South Korea. He is also active in research and publication (Bony window approach for a traumatic bone cyst on the mandibular condyle: a case report with long-term follow up, Published in September 2016 issue of Journal of Korean Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery).

With his extensive training and experience, his top priority is to provide the personalized, highest quality of care to patients using the latest technology.

Dr. Kim lives in Fulton, Maryland with his wife, Grace and two children, Elijah and Joanna.

KIM TO ACCURATELY DIAGNOSE AND TREAT PATIENTS, ESPECIALLY WHEN HE DOES IMPLANTS, WISDOM TEETH EXTRACTIONS, SINUS LIFTS, BONE GRAFTS, BIOPSY AND ROOT CANAL TREATMENTS.

Implants

Dr. Kim has extensive experience doing dental implants and is a fellow of International Congress of Oral implantology (ICOI) which is the world’s largest dental implant organization that recognizes dentists who have demonstrated a thorough knowledge and superior skill in performing implants. Dr. Kim also performs sinus lifts surgeries and bone grafts to build up bone volumes for patients who have insufficient bone structures for dental implants.

Wisdom tooth extraction

Dr. Kim can perform every kind of wisdom tooth extraction. We use nitrous oxide to help ease anxiety for people who have fear about dental procedures.

Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA)

Dr. Kim is a member of American Association of Dental Sleep Medicine and treats OSA by using oral appliances. OSA has been associated with higher risk of developing cardiovascular diseases including hypertension, diabetes, heart attacks and strokes. An oral appliance, when worn during sleep, supports the jaw in a forward position to help maintain an open upper airway. Research shows that oral appliance therapy is an effective treatment option for obstructive sleep apnea.
